2010 NewsJack Bowhan to Serve on NQF Steering Committee for Efficiency Resource Use ProjectMay 13, 2010 Jack Bowhan will represent the Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ) on the steering committee of the National Quality Forum's (NQF) Efficiency Resource Use Project. The steering committee will evaluate and make recommendations on how to determine the appropriateness of episode-based resource use measures and to identify quality and efficiency measures that could be applied at the geographic-level. This project has significant implications for the country's ability to measure and reward healthcare value, the intersection of quality and cost. WCHQ has collaborated with the Wisconsin Health Information Organization and other stakeholders to assess issues related to constructing a value metric for diabetes management. Jack will bring this experience and perspective to the NQF steering committee, whose work, in turn, will influence the direction of future WCHQ initiatives to measure healthcare value.
