The report emphasizes comparative quality data on 42 performance measures developed among the nine Wisconsin providers and their business partners. Governor Doyle and a handful of healthcare and business executives throughout the state emphasized the importance of transparency in healthcare reporting. Several Appleton hospitals were recognized as quality care providers on Solutient's "100 Top Hospitals" List. ThedaCare Hospitals, Appleton Medical Center and ThedaClark Medical Center, were recognized as was Affinity owned St. Elizabeth Hospital. Health Maintenance Organizations for both ThedaCare and Affinity were rated "Excellent", the highest national ranking for quality of managed care plans, by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
Regina Herzlinger, Harvard Business professor, applauds Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality for promoting a consumer driven marketplace in an attempt to lower costs and create more informed purchasing decisions.
