A series of reports released today by the Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality and Healthy Metric provide an initial look at the impact the pandemic has had on health care disparities. The reports cover three chronic conditions, diabetes, colorectal cancer screening and high blood pressure from the onset of the pandemic through 2020.

The Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ) presented Fort HealthCare with its top award for excellence in quality improvement leadership at a celebration held June 22, 2022. Gabrielle Rude, PhD, WCHQ President and CEO, presented the award at the WCHQ Quality and Value Improvement Event and Diabetes Summit. Accepting on behalf of Fort HealthCare was President and CEO Michael Wallace.

The Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ) today announced a new initiative that will identify patients who are at a higher risk of chronic kidney disease (CKD) sooner and start treatment before they progress to a more severe disease state. The project is supported by Bayer.

The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and the UW School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) are partnering on an initiative to improve health equity in Wisconsin. MCW’s Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment (AHW) and the SMPH’s Wisconsin Partnership Program (WPP), statewide health funders based at Wisconsin’s two medical schools, have announced a joint three-year, $3 million grant to launch an expansive new statewide partnership that will study, measure and recommend solutions for health inequities across the state of Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ) recognized two statewide organizations, the Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA) and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS), for collecting and publicly sharing data that is essential in the fight against COVID-19.
